Week 21 - July 9, 2017

Dear family, 

I don't have a lot of time, so I won't be sending out a mass email this week. I'll just tell you what we did this week. 

Well first off, we have a new Mission President, president Sekaguchi. Honestly super nice and is just great. Last Tuesday we had a small conference, and he was talking to us about hos vision for the mission, and it made me and Bean Shimai very excited. He had mentioned how when he was being set apart, one of the Apostle told him how our mission was going to boom, and how he can see us in the next few years have 50 baptisms in one month! How crazy. An apostle said that! . President Sekaguchi has been so great. You can really tell with hem how much he loves his missionaries. On Saturday the Elders in our ward had a baptism, and so did the sisters in another ward which is 1hour drive difference, and he went to both. After the baptism, he even spent time to get to know each one of the members. He even went up to each companion and asked us if we had anything we needed or if we had enough shoes. One funny thing that happens though is before they left, sister bean and I were talking to him and Sister Sekaguchi, and before they left he gave me and Sister bean a hug!!! 

This week we also were able to have splits. It was a lot of fun. Lafrontd Shimai and I went up this mountain, but as we were about to leave Lafrontd Shimai popped her tire, so we went back to the chapel. Good thing the APs were there so they let her borrow their bike, and because they had mountain bikes they also let me borrow theirs, which was a blessing because the hills were really steep. 

Anyways, nothing a lot has changed. But I have learned a lot on my mission about myself. It so interesting to think how much you get to learn about yourself. My testimony of the gospel has totally increased, my gain in Heavenly Father had increased. I know he loves each one of us, and that he has a plan for me. I am not having the easiest time with finding people to teach,  but he has a plan, and we must not give up. 

Love you so much and miss you, I really mean it when I say, I want to hear from each one of you.

みなさんこんにちわ！ First things first Happy Fathers day to all the father's out there!  This past couple of weeks has been crazy. We will be getting a new mission president this July, so to make it easier for President Sekiguchi President Smith had transfers again last week, and have this transfer for 9 weeks. Which is all good because Bean Shimai has honestly been the Best.  One of the things Yamagata is really famous for is for their cherries. So this week they held a cherry festival. It was a blast the weather was great and Bean Shimai and I were able to go with one of our investigators Nihei San.  Also miracle of the week. The person that we stopped last week went to Eikawa, and not only that but also read the Book of Mormon, and next week we will be having a lesson with her.  Sorry really Short email this week. Week 30 - Sept 12. 2017

みなさんこんにちわ！ What a great week it has been!! Sorry I wasn't able to send out an email last week. My laziness took over me, but don't you worry I'll make it up with lots of pictures.  Many great things happened this week. On Wednesday we had an appointment with a lady we saw 2 weeks ago but ended up missing because of lack of communication between us. She was apparently waiting for 1 hour for us until she decided to leave, and because we had our phone on silent, and she called from a phone box, we weren't able to get her in time. She then called us later that night and told us she read the Book of Mormon, All of it!!  we then ended up meeting with her again last week, and invited her to be baptized. She was a little hesitant, but she didn't say no, but wanted to read the Book of Mormon again before deciding.  Another great experience we had was on Sunday. Week 11 - April 24, 2017 CHERRY BLOSSOMS!

Hello!!! I am loving Japan more and more each day! It's honestly beautiful here, if only you all can see it. People here are so kind and fun to talk with, the people in the ward is so fun and just amazing. The more I get to know each one of them, my love for them grows. This Sunday I finally got to meet a Filipino member who my companion has been waiting for me to meet. She was so sweet, when she figured out I was a Filipino she began to cry, and kept telling me how I was a blessing to her she was honestly so sweet, we then started talking in Tagalog with each other. A language I can actually understand and somewhat can speak.  On Tuesday we had  the opportunity to do service at an old care home, getting there itself was a struggle, it honestly felt like I was climbing a mountain.
