Week 4 - March 8, 2017
Week 4!!!!
This week has been so fast, today is officially my 1-month mark in my mission, can you believe it!!! Every Wednesday my roommates and I talk about how our first day and how it was like, how we felt, and how although it was a memorable day we can't imagine having to go through that emotional rollercoaster we had when we got here. But with all honesty, it has been super fast, and in no time I'll be in Japan.

So this week I was able to get someone to examine my wrist to see what was wrong with it ( and yes I got to go out of the MTC again) Long story short, they found out that I had de Quervain tendinopathy which is pain that is caused by the tendons that are connected from the wrist to my thumb, which I had for the longest time. As a solution the doctor that examined me requested I either have a shot to help the tendons to relax or partake in a surgery, long story short I had a date planned for my surgery, but things changed and they had me do the shot instead, which I'm pretty happy with.
So language has been doing great, but some days have been better than others. There was a day where we had taught our kyodosha and my companion and I had a goal to not bring a lot of things with us and we had prayed a lot to be able to have the spirit with us during the lesson, and I kid you not it was one of our better lessons we had and what was even better was that we had two lessons back to back, that both were amazing.
One of the days that I love the most here at the MTC is Tuesdays because Tuesdays are Devotional days!! Yesterday we got to hear from Elder and Sister Costa, their talks were both amazing, but what I loved the most from the devotional was of when Elder Costa was talking about 3 conversion stories that he had witnessed during his time. What made all the stories interesting was that all of them were special in their own way. He later talks about how all missionaries have their way in helping investigators come to know the truth.
Also, did I mention, there are two other Filipinos in my zone, which has been super fun because I feel like I have something close to home whenever I talk to them. It's super funny because of the Filipino choro, elder Apillida is well known for doing the duck dance, and everyone loves it. Sister Bautista is the cutest, Filipino this Sunday she bore her testimony in Tagalog and you can totally feel the spirit in the room even though no one understood her.

I'm honestly loving my mission so far, there has been some hard times and times where I do get overwhelmed with the language but I have seen so many blessings in my life while I've been here.
Well till next week.
Love you all and miss you a ton,
Love Bamba Shimai
