Week 5 - March 15, 2017

Hello everyone, 

Where can I begin, a lot has happened this week and a lot more to come in the next. 

This week our sensietachi had started to get us to start making our own schedule with lessons rather then them having to plan it, which was really nice because it allowed us to start getting used to doing things on our own, They  had also wanted us to start teaching lessons without scripts, and just focus on what the spirit wants us to say. This week we got to teach one of our investigators about baptism, which is really hard when you are limited to the language, but we both went in there having a positive attitude about the outcome. My companion had the prompting of giving me the opportunity to lead the lesson this week, which I questioned her a bunch of times if she was sure about it, but I was super happy about it because during that lesson I had really focused on who I was teaching than what I was teaching. 

I love my mission so far, and I know that its just getting started but I have learned so much in this last month that made me really think of our purpose as a missionary. Every day our district would start our class with resighting the missionary purpose which says " Our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end."  Our purpose as missionaries to help people to come closer to Christ, we are instruments of God.

Yesterday we had Sister Linda K. Burton, President of the General Relief Society talk to us about our mission and how it should be focused on God. In her talk, she showed a video about God being a gardener. What I love about this video was that it mentioned about how God is the gardener, he knows what is the best for us, we may not recognize it right away, but we put our trust in Him he will not leave us astray. Sister Burton then says, "When we want to go fast go alone when you want to go far, go together". We can not do anything or go anywhere without the comfort and guidance of our Heavenly Father we can't do it on our own. 

This week has been bittersweet, not only am I freaking out that we only have 3 weeks in the MTC, but our Senpaitatchi will be going to Japan this Monday, and our 30 missionaries zone turns into a 9 missionaries zone. In a good note though we will be getting new missionaries next week, so all is good.

みなさんこんにちわ！ First things first Happy Fathers day to all the father's out there!  This past couple of weeks has been crazy. We will be getting a new mission president this July, so to make it easier for President Sekiguchi President Smith had transfers again last week, and have this transfer for 9 weeks. Which is all good because Bean Shimai has honestly been the Best.  One of the things Yamagata is really famous for is for their cherries. So this week they held a cherry festival. It was a blast the weather was great and Bean Shimai and I were able to go with one of our investigators Nihei San.  Also miracle of the week. The person that we stopped last week went to Eikawa, and not only that but also read the Book of Mormon, and next week we will be having a lesson with her.  Sorry really Short email this week. Week 30 - Sept 12. 2017

みなさんこんにちわ！ What a great week it has been!! Sorry I wasn't able to send out an email last week. My laziness took over me, but don't you worry I'll make it up with lots of pictures.  Many great things happened this week. On Wednesday we had an appointment with a lady we saw 2 weeks ago but ended up missing because of lack of communication between us. She was apparently waiting for 1 hour for us until she decided to leave, and because we had our phone on silent, and she called from a phone box, we weren't able to get her in time. She then called us later that night and told us she read the Book of Mormon, All of it!!  we then ended up meeting with her again last week, and invited her to be baptized. She was a little hesitant, but she didn't say no, but wanted to read the Book of Mormon again before deciding.  Another great experience we had was on Sunday. Week 11 - April 24, 2017 CHERRY BLOSSOMS!

Hello!!! I am loving Japan more and more each day! It's honestly beautiful here, if only you all can see it. People here are so kind and fun to talk with, the people in the ward is so fun and just amazing. The more I get to know each one of them, my love for them grows. This Sunday I finally got to meet a Filipino member who my companion has been waiting for me to meet. She was so sweet, when she figured out I was a Filipino she began to cry, and kept telling me how I was a blessing to her she was honestly so sweet, we then started talking in Tagalog with each other. A language I can actually understand and somewhat can speak.  On Tuesday we had  the opportunity to do service at an old care home, getting there itself was a struggle, it honestly felt like I was climbing a mountain.
